Claude Roegiers

The Belgian-American artist Claude Roegiers began his artistic career in California, where he also pursued a career in the fashion industry. This strongly influenced his work. After spending years creating abstract paintings featuring geometric shapes on painted fabrics, he first applied the warp and weft effect to his work in 2011. This effect is a specific technique used in textile manufacturing. In practice, it refers to the way warp and weft threads are interwoven in the weaving process.
This creates different patterns and textures. Roegiers combines this technique with pictorial painting to highlight the emotional and narrative elements of his work. This allows him to explore memories and emotions allegorically, offering a unique reinterpretation and revealing a distant world beneath the surface. His works exude elegance and timelessness, offering insights into a fleeting reality. He currently works in Paris and Miami.
