Bettina Aubermann, a self-taught artist born in Budapest and raised on the shores of Lake Geneva, draws inspiration for her artistic oeuvre from watery landscapes and the ever-changing sky.
Following a substantial period of drawing, the artist has now transitioned primarily to oil painting. Drawing inspiration from the minutiae of Old Masterpieces, she explores the multifaceted nature of light in her paintings, whether it be light refracted through clouds, reflected in water, or bouncing off surfaces. Her objective is to capture the transient moment in which tranquility and power coexist.
The artist's oeuvre is founded upon photographic references, which she then arranges and interprets according to her own imagination. Prior to the execution of the initial brushstroke, she undertakes a meticulous analysis of the light sources and effects in order to authentically depict the play of light on the canvas. Despite the artist's evident ability to depict a wide variety of subjects, she evinces a particular predilection for dramatic water landscapes characterised by dynamic skies.

Bettina Aubermann, in Budapest geboren und am Genfersee aufgewachsen, findet in Wasserlandschaften und dem sich ständig wandelnden Himmel ihre künstlerische Inspiration.
Nach einer umfassenden Auseinandersetzung mit der Zeichnung widmet sie sich gegenwärtig hauptsächlich der Ölmalerei. Von den kleinsten Details alter Meisterwerke inspiriert, erkundet sie in ihren Gemälden das Licht in all seinen Facetten: Sei es das durch Wolken gebrochene Licht, das sich im Wasser spiegelt oder von Oberflächen reflektiert wird. Das Ziel besteht darin, den Moment zwischen Ruhe und Kraft einzufangen.
Ihre Werke entstehen auf Basis fotografischer Vorlagen, die sie nach eigener Fantasie arrangiert und interpretiert. Bevor sie den ersten Pinselstrich setzt, analysiert sie akribisch die Lichtquellen und -effekte, um das Spiel des Lichts auf der Leinwand authentisch darzustellen. Obwohl sie eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Motive malt, gilt ihre besondere Vorliebe dramatischen Wasserlandschaften mit bewegten Himmeln.
